Flint Lead Shower Filter ™
The lead shower filter and shower head is proven to reduce lead from toxic water.
Yes you can now REDUCE LEAD in your shower and bath!
I modified my Ugly Shower Filter™ and created the Flint Lead Shower Filter™ to
reduce toxic lead in your shower and bath water.
The Flint Lead Shower Filter has a replaceable
filter cartridge that is proven to reduce lead and other toxins in water. This filter
reduces Lead, Cyst and Turbidity based on NSF/ANSI Standard 53 and Chlorine
Taste and Odor Based on NSF/ANSI Standard 42.
The replaceble Flint
Lead Shower Filter reduces the following contaminants:
• Bad Taste and Odor
• Chlorine Taste & Odor
• 99.95% of Cysts (Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Entamoeba and
Toxoplasma) • Dissolved and Particulate Lead
• Mercury • Methyl tertiary butyl ether
(MTBE)
• Particulates (Class I)
• VOCs (volatile organic compounds)
The replaceable filter cartridge measures 9 3/4 inches
(length) x 2 7/8 inches (outside diameter). THIS IS
IMPORTANT! All other shower filters are
smaller which means they don’t remove as much lead, other toxic metals and chemicals, and
they don’t last as long.
This lead filter is a powerful, multifunctional filter cartridge for residential and
commercial water treatment systems. The filter's extruded activated carbon filters reduce soluble
lead using an ion-exchange medium with high specificity for soluble lead. Particulate filtration is used to
intercept insoluble lead-containing particles.
How long does the lead shower filter cartridge last?
The filter will reduce lead, meeting the performance requirements of NSF/ANSI Standard 53
protocol for over 2,500 gallons when operating at a flow rate of 0.75 GPM. The lead shower
filter and included shower head limits water flow less than 1/2 to 1 gallon per minute. An average shower
lasts 5 to 10 minutes which means you will use 5 - 10 gallons of water for each shower. If two
people use the shower each day you will use 10 - 20 gallons of filtered water per day and the filter will
could last for 120 days.
But, the filter will clog and decrease water flow faster if you have high amounts
of toxic metals and chemicals. Some people with toxic water sources will have to change the filter every 2-4
weeks.
When do I replace the lead shower filter
cartridge?
When the shower flow decreases to a dribble your filter is full of toxic metals
and contaminants and should be replaced.
VERY IMPORTANT: Since bacteria or mold could grow in any filter I
suggest you replace any filter at least every 3 - 4 months.
How much does the replaceble shower filter cost?
Your Flint Lead Shower Filter kit contains one filter cartridge. After a 2-4
weeks (if you have high amounts of toxic lead and other metals) or a couple of months you will need to replace your filter cartridge.
Amazon has the replaceable filter for less than $20. You may tap or click on the
following link and picture to order your replacement filter.
Why does the filtered shower water come out in a fine spray?
The lead shower filter and the shower head limits water flow to 1/2 or 1 gallon per minute to
allow the water to remain in contact with the filter as long as possible. A 2 gallon faster water
flow will decrease the effectiveness of the lead water filter. The average shower head allows 2 gallons or
more per minute. You are using one-half or one-quarter as much water with this system so your water stream
will not be as large.
How hot can my shower water be?
All water filters are rated and tested to operate up to certain temperatures. This
lead water filter cartridge can operate up to a maximum operating temperature of 125 F / 51.67 C. You may need to
adjust your hot water tank or the hot water at your shower water handle.
